serveurDEDIE measures connectivity to DE operators from its multi-connected hosting center in Washington DC, USA. We publish monthly and yearly reports available online with a subscription. If you are not familiar with our reports, please check our methodology and interpretation notes. The TBS computation unit is a corrected transmitted packet rate which takes into account unavailability.
This report is based on the first 6 months measurements (Oct 1999 - Mar 2000) for DE. A 2000 report will be available in early 2001. Operators selected for this analysis are: UUnet-DE, CW-ECRC, DFN, IS-Europe, Nacamar, Deutsche-Tel, Xlink, POP, Gigabell, Contrib-net, Topnet, Spacenet, Easynet-DE, Profi-net, Germany-net, DPN, Mediaways, Evolution-Sys, INX-DE, Regio, PSInet-EU-DE, NDH, Colt-DE
If you are a DE operator and would like to be part of these measurements, see here
The silver medal is granted to Deutsche Telekom AG (AS3320). Deutsche Telekom obtained the best raw transmitted packets results over the period.
The bronze medal is granted to Deutsches Provider Network (AS6754), a VIA NET.WORKS company.
After those 3 performance leaders, our chart lists 12 good quality operators that score over 97 points average. Namely: Spacenet, Mediaways, Profi-net, UUnet-DE, Contrib-net, Regio, Colt-DE, Easynet-DE, PSInet-EU-DE, IS-Europe, Topnet, CW-ECRC
Below 97 points average, we find a list of operators providing medium quality from our hosting center. We recommand to avoid operators that score less that 96 points average. In this round this would be POP and Xlink.
Those results indicate that the German market has quite a number of good and very good operators but also has quite a few medium quality ones.
Commercial usage of those results require the acquisition of a licence. Data protected under the french copyright and database laws.
